about me

I wrote a memoir called THE BRAND NEW CATASTROPHE which received the Christopher Doheny Prize for excellence in illness writing from the Center for Fiction.

My work has appeared in the New York Times, the Paris Review online, Bon AppétitAgni, and elsewhere.

I’ve received awards, fellowships, and scholarships from the New York Foundation for the Arts, Art Omi, Bread Loaf, Ucross, and I was the Philip Roth Writer In Residence at Bucknell University a while back.

I currently live in Pittsburgh.
